Set the wedding date and time
Determine the type of wedding
Meet with the families (your parents should be the first to know about the engagement)
Purchase or make wedding planner
Set up another time to discuss wedding plans and budgets with your parents.
Choose a location for the ceremony (get details: availability, fees, seating capacity, etc.)
