Ronald James Comeaux and Sheryl Ann Hanks

Ronald is a 28 year old LSU engineering graduate who is currently employed with Shell Oil as a petroleum engineer in Baton Rouge, LA. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Comeaux of Little Rock, AR and has two older brothers, Joseph Comeaux II, and Kirk Comeaux.

Sheryl, who is 26, graduated from USL in nursing and is an RN at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital here in Lafayette. Her parents are Mr. Arthur Hanks of San Diego, CA and Mrs. Helen Green of Lafayette, LA.

     Ronald and Sheryl met at a Shell company party. Sheryl was attending the party with a female friend, Melissa Hebert. Melissa introduced the two of them early in the evening and left them to chat and get to know one another. About every 30 minutes, Melissa would return to the table to see if Sheryl needed rescuing (just in case, she wasn't interested.) Four rescue attempts later, Melissa gave up.
     Ronald and Sheryl began dating after that night. They have been together every weekend since then for the last seven months. (Sometimes Ronald even makes a surprise trip during the week.)
     After dinner at her mother's house, Ronald proposed to Sheryl on Sunday, April 16 aboard a romantic sailboat that he had rented for the evening.

Ronald and Sheryl will be married on Saturday, October 14 at 6 o'clock in the evening at
Rip Van Winkle Gardens in New Iberia, Louisiana.
The wedding will be a formal affair complete with black tux and white cathedral length gown. The bridesmaids will be wearing light blue chiffon dresses and carrying ivory roses.
The reception will be held in the Joseph Jefferson House there on the grounds with
special live music provided by Jazz, etc.
The rehearsal will be at 6:30 p.m. on Friday, October 13 at the gardens and will be followed by a
quiet rehearsal supper at Vermillionville Restaurant on Pinhook.

After their marriage, Ronald and Sheryl will make their home in Baton Rouge. Sheryl has already secured a nursing transfer to a hospital in Baton Rouge.

The two of them have registered for household items and gifts at Dillard's in the Lafayette Acadiana Mall and the Mall of Louisiana in Baton Rouge.
