ANNOUNCEMENTS . . .
. . . are mailed out on the day of the wedding to family and friends that you were unable to invite to the wedding ceremony. It will include the names of the parents and/or bride and groom, the date and the location that the ceremony took place. Do not include the time.
  Whoever is named as the inviter on your invitations is also named as the announcer on your announcements.
  Apply the same rules of etiquette regarding numbers, capitalization, abbreviation, etc. to your announcement as you did on your invitation.
                       

R E C E P T I O N   C A R D S   &   I N V I T A T I O N S

RECEPTION INVITATIONS . . .
. . . are mailed out seperately to persons invited to the reception but not to the wedding ceremony. They are usually the same size as the wedding invitations and conform to the same rules of etiquette.

RECEPTION CARDS . . .

. . . are usually included with your wedding invitation and go to those invited to both.
They are a 6 1/2" X 5" sheet folded in half to form a 3 1/4" X 5" card with the words printed on the front. The inside is left blank.

CORNER COPY . . .
. . . is becoming increasingly popular for brides with limited time and funds. Three or four lines are inserted in the left, lower corner of the invitation with the reception information.

R.S.V.P. CARDS . . .
. . . are optional and included with either the wedding invitation or a reception invitation. They are usually a 6 1/2" X 5" sheet folded in half to form a 3 1/4" X 5" card with the words printed on the front. The inside is left blank. They are enclosed in a small, self-addressed envelope with postage already attached.
  The response date should be at least two weeks before the wedding. Include a blank line for the invitee's name and also ask how many people will be attending with them.

The favour of a reply is requested
before October 1, 2000.

______  THANK YOU CARDS . . .
. . . should be mailed out no later than two weeks after the receipt of the gift. You may use a fancy, scripted style lettering to print "Thank You" on the front of the folded card or you may choose a personal verse. However, on the inside should be a handwritten note from you and/or your fiance addressing the giver and mentioning the exact gift that they gave you with a short expression of how much you will enjoy and use the gift.
