1.  VISIT a local paper supply or office supply store to locate the type of paper you would like to        use. Cardstock generally works better for invitations, announcements, R.S.V.P.'s and map        cards. Programs can also be printed on card stock or you may decide to use an attractive,        uniquely, designed paper.

2.  MAKE SURE you use a good quality printer. If you are planning on printing everything in black       ink, you may want to consider using a black & white laser printer. If you choose to print in color       and do not have access to a color laser printer, make sure that your ink jet prints very clean and       clear. If you do not own a good quality printer, check around with friends, work associates or       your boss to see if they have one that they would allow you to use.

3.   CHOOSE your font style carefully. While many of the fancy, scripted styles are appealing, they        are difficult to read. Whenever you are using a small font size, always choose a very clear,        straight font that is easy to read. (Ex. Times, Arial)
For larger words, you can use the more scripted styles.

4.    REVIEW some of the following examples to get an idea of the correct wording and then let your        creativity soar!

Here is a typical, traditional example of invitations being sent by the bride's parents.

  Remember...
* to spell all names correctly and completely.
* you may abbreviate the suffix, Jr., but it must be    capitalized and preceded by a comma.
* Roman numerals I, II, must also be preceded by a comma.
* abbreviations may be used for Mr. or Mrs., but not for     Reverend, Doctor or Captain.
* you may use a middle initial instead of a complete middle    name. (Richard D. Smith)
* spell out all numbers, sixteenth, three, two thousand, etc.,     for dates and times.
* you may use actual numbers in the street address

* spell out all cities and states - no abbreviations
* spell out the words, street, avenue, road, etc.
* note the spelling of honour
