Most brides have only one or two weddings in a lifetime and are not always familiar with
traditions or proper wedding etiquette. Sometimes, brides are not interested in tradition at all,
they want fresh and unique! A coordinator can suggest ideas you never knew existed or can
help to locate resources that will make your new ideas and dreams become reality.

Your first consultation should include you, your fiance and/or your mother. During this meeting
you should go over every aspect of the ceremony, answer questions, determine head counts,
organize your music, plan the seating arrangements and the order of your attendants.

A coordinator will direct and assist at the rehearsal, wedding and/or reception. This will
insure that everyone is seated in the proper places, enters at the appropriate time during the processional, the children attendants are taken care of, the music is played in the correct
order along with many other details.

Having a coordinator will relieve you of frustrations and tensions that often occur and allow
you the freedom to really enjoy your wedding. They have the ability to orchestrate a cast
of many into a cohesive whole for an entire day. This service while often overlooked during
the planning stage is absolutely vital to the success of the wedding ceremony.

Will a coordinator dictate to me what can and cannot be done during the ceremony?

Most of the coordinators that I know are "old" and are not open to new ideas.

My parents and I are in disagreement about issues concerning the ceremony.

Why can't the bride or her mother take care of directing on the wedding day?

Can I ask a friend or relative to direct my wedding?

I thought it was the priest's or the minister's job to direct the wedding.

Do some churches have wedding coordinators on staff?

What is the difference between a "Consultant" and a "Coordinator or Director"?
